Iabadiou Piko is a self taught painter from Prabumulih, South Sumatera, Indonesia. She studied at Academic Design of Vision Yogyakarta Department (ADVY) 2005, majoring in Art Photography and talks to Kollektiv about her practice.
“I create my work using the medium of painting. My work speaks on the free association and intuitive mind of daily memories. My work is an expression and the memory of behaviour and personal feeling of anxiety about the perception of material reality, fantasy and human transformation. Inspire by doodle, lines, images, impression of forms, shapes, colours and environments that I have seen.
By creating an expression of lines, streaks, imagination as a metaphor to convey something, I expect these works to build the perception of reality and self visual traces that constantly change. Which can be meaningful to me personally and others.”

Visualise reality.
What does failure mean to you?
Make ugly beautiful.
What’ll happen if you always do things the long way?
Draw what you would’ve made as a child.
Please create a portrait of me.
Where is your resting place?
Where can we find more of your work?
