A little while ago I had the pleasure of spending a few hours exchanging stories with Chris Riddell at the bottom of his garden in his studio covered in lush sketchy drawings. For a lot of children, adults and fairy tale characters, Chris is an illustration hero. His work fondly revolves around writing and illustrating children’s books, political satire for The Observer and teaching as well.
You might know him for his most recent collaboration with Russell Brand on his new book, The Pied Piper. Or for being awarded the Children’s Laureate position, given once every two years to a writer or illustrator of children’s books to celebrate outstanding achievement in their field. He is brilliant, this interview is brilliant and we hope you love it as much as we do.
Thank you Chris.
